Corporate social responsibility is most impactful when it goes beyond funding and becomes a genuine partnership. Over the past year, Corporater’s collaboration with Seb’s Projects India has demonstrated how businesses can contribute to meaningful, long-term change in underserved communities.
Seb’s Projects works across education, nutrition, health, and livelihood development in the remote tribal communities of the Jawadhi Hills in Tamil Nadu. Through its support, Corporater has played an important role in helping expand opportunities for children and families who face significant barriers to education and economic development.
Building Access to Education
One of the most significant milestones of the year was the construction and inauguration of a new Seb’s School in the tribal village of Puliyamarathur. For many children in the village, attending school previously meant walking long distances through challenging terrain. The new school has brought quality education much closer to home, creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
The school was made possible through a partnership between Seb’s Projects, local community members, and Corporater. What makes the project particularly inspiring is that the land for the school was donated by a village resident who wanted future generations of children to have better access to education. Together, community commitment and corporate support transformed that vision into reality.
Access to Clean Water, Better Health, and Improved Learning
Access to clean drinking water has long been a challenge for school children and villagers in the communities served by Seb’s Projects. Recognizing that education and health go hand in hand, Corporater supported the installation and maintenance of clean drinking water units in Seb’s schools.
These water units now provide reliable access to safe drinking water for hundreds of children and community members across the Jawadhi Hills. Beyond meeting a basic need, the initiative has helped improve health outcomes by reducing the risk of waterborne illnesses, which are a common cause of school absenteeism. Children can now attend classes more regularly, stay healthier, and focus better on their learning.
The impact extends beyond the school gates. Community members also benefit from access to clean drinking water, contributing to improved wellbeing for entire villages. Through regular maintenance and monitoring by Seb’s health workers, the systems continue to provide safe water year-round, ensuring that this support delivers lasting value to the communities it serves.
What began as a simple infrastructure investment has become an important foundation for healthier children, stronger communities, and better educational outcomes.
Engaging Beyond Financial Support
Corporater’s involvement extends far beyond funding. During the year, employees and leaders from Corporater’s offices in Norway, the UK, and India visited Seb’s Projects initiatives across the Jawadhi Hills and Vellore.
These visits provided an opportunity to see firsthand the impact of the programs and to engage directly with the communities being served. Team members met students, teachers, health workers, women entrepreneurs, and families whose lives have been transformed through access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and livelihood opportunities.
The visits also included participation in food distribution programs for people living on the streets and support activities for vulnerable communities around Vellore. By spending time with beneficiaries and listening to their stories, employees gained a deeper understanding of both the challenges faced by these communities and the resilience they demonstrate every day.

Supporting Sustainable Livelihoods
Corporater’s engagement also extends to community development and economic empowerment. Team members visited women’s self-help groups participating in Focus Business School training programs supported by Seb’s Projects.
The training helps women develop entrepreneurial skills, strengthen financial literacy, improve business planning, and build sustainable income-generating activities. From tamarind processing enterprises to small-scale livestock businesses, these initiatives are helping women become more financially independent and contribute to the wellbeing of their families and communities.

Creating Meaningful Employee Experiences
For many Corporater employees, visiting Seb’s Projects became a deeply personal experience. Meeting the children, teachers, and community members has created a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation for the power of education.
Several employees and their families contributed books, sports equipment, and other resources for the schools. Others take time out to visit the project and share about how witnessing the impact of the programs inspired them to become more involved in charitable initiatives and community service efforts.
These experiences highlight an important aspect of successful CSR programs: they do not only benefit communities; they also create opportunities for employees to connect with a larger purpose and experience the tangible impact of their organization’s values.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values
At its heart, the partnership between Corporater and Seb’s Projects is about investing in human potential. Whether through building schools, supporting entrepreneurship, improving access to education, or engaging employees directly with communities, the collaboration reflects a shared belief that lasting change happens when people are given opportunities, dignity, and support.
The inauguration of the Puliyamarathur school may be the most visible symbol of this partnership, but its true impact can be seen in the children who now have a place to learn, the women who are building businesses, and the communities that are gaining greater hope for the future.
As Seb’s Projects continues its mission of serving vulnerable communities, Corporater’s ongoing support demonstrates how purposeful corporate partnerships can help create sustainable change—one child, one family, and one community at a time.
