A Risk chart is a graphical presentation of Risk factors and Function Risk factors in a Risk factor list or a Filtered list.
By copying a Risk chart to the Template model, you can link it to other objects across models, and thus use it across the system.
Each risk chart is a matrix with a specific size. The default matrix size is 5x5; however, you can configure also as 8x8 or 2x2.
You can define the size and layout of Risk charts in the Settings menu, in Global settings. Corporater BMP applies these settings to each risk chart.
Each cell in the chart appears as a square. You can assign a color to it by selecting that color from a predefined color range.
Corporater BMP plots each risk in a specific cell of the risk chart according to their Consequence x Probability values.
Risk factors whose Probability or Consequence value is zero don't appear in the chart.
If the value is below the first limit for a Function risk factor or below zero for a Risk factor, Corporater BMP estimates it as a zero and thus doesn't display the factor in the chart.
If the value is above the maximum limit for a Function risk factor or above the maximum dimension of the risk chart (such as above five in a 5x5 risk chart), Corporater BMP estimates it as the maximum Consequence or Probability value and displays the factor accordingly in the chart.
If the same cell contains multiple risks, Corporater BMP displays the risks next to each other in that cell.
For optimum display, Corporater BMP recommends you include only one or a small number of risks in each risk chart.
Risk charts can include the following default scales:
Risk
Probability
Consequence
Corporater BMP displays them for each chart based on the Factor type of the risk factors that are represented in that chart.
If the Factor type of any risk factor that's represented in that chart is 'Risk', Corporater BMP displays the Risk scale for that chart.
If the Factor type of any risk factor that's represented in that chart is 'Opportunity', Corporater BMP displays the Opportunity scale for that chart.
If the Factor type of any risk factor that's represented in that chart is 'Both', Corporater BMP displays both the Risk and the Opportunity scales for that chart.
Each scale includes a default number of 5 scale items. You can configure the name of each scale, the number of scale items, and the name of each item on a scale.
To configure them as global settings that apply to each risk chart across the system, use Global settings in the Settings menu.
To configure them as independent settings for specific risk charts, use the general properties in the configuration of each chart.
To add a Risk chart, right-click the element to which it belongs, choose Add -> Risk -> Risk chart.
General
Name - the name "Risk chart" is generated automatically but it may be changed
Description - an optional text describing the object, displayed when you click Description in the drop-down for the Risk chart
Configuration
Table - click the icon to the right and choose the Risk factor list or Filtered list to use as basis for the chart. If a Filtered list is used, it must use Risk factor or Function risk factor in the Filter configuration. If no table is specified, the Risk chart will use the closest preceding or following Risk list as basis.
If Table property is empty and the risk chart is put on a risk assessment with one risk Factor list containing multiple risk factors, it will show all the risk factors as a combined chart.
However if there are multiple risk factor lists in the risk assessment, the risk chart shows only the risk factors in the closest (the one above) risk factor list.
If it is put into a risk factor object it will chart that object only.
Aggregated - select for Corporater BMP to display risk factors in the chart in aggregated form.
If you select this option for a chart, when a user hovers over a cell in the chart on Web, if that cell includes multiple risk factors, the icon that displays for
the cell includes the list and number or risk factors in that cell. Users can then select a risk from the list and perform data drilling on its data.
Corporater BMP recommends you select this option if the chart contains a large number of risk factors.
Marker text - the text to represent each risk factor in the chart.
Click the Lookup button ( icon) and enter the text. The text can contain alphanumeric characters and dynamic (token) tags. You
can select tags (properties) from the list of context variables.
The tags mustn't include white spaces, especially between $ and {. For example, enter ${this.object.id} instead of $
{ this.object.id.
To use a the system ID as a context variable, set the ID as visible for the Risk factor list or Filtered list.
Show tooltips - deselect for Corporater BMP to hide the tooltips for the risks in the chart on Web.
Corporater recommends you hide the tooltips if you:
Don't use the values of the risks in the chart.
Use numerical values that aren't linked to corresponding From probability property and From consequence property values as the probability and consequence of the risks in the chart.
Layout
Auto size - mark to automatically fit the chart to the space available
Height - the height of the chart in pixels (not used with Auto size)
Chart centered - if checked, the chart is centered, if not checked the chart will be aligned on the left.
Opportunity label - the name of the opportunity scale of the risk chart.
Risk label - the name of the risk scale of the risk chart.
Probability label - the name of the probability scale of the risk chart.
Consequence label - the name of the consequence scale of the risk chart.
The labels display for the risk chart only on Web.
Opportunity consequence label
Very significant / Significant / Moderate / Small / Minimal - the name of the corresponding item on the risk chart's Opportunity scale.
You can use text, numbers, and percentages for the labels.
Corporater BMP applies the values that you enter in these fields to the risk chart instead of the standard labels for risk charts under Global Settings.
Risk consequence label
Very low / Low / Moderate / Serious / Very serious - the name of the corresponding item on the risk chart's Consequence scale.
You can use text, numbers, and percentages for the labels.
Corporater BMP applies the values that you enter in these fields to the risk chart instead of the standard labels for risk charts under Global Settings.
Probability labels
Very great / Great / Moderate / Small / Very small - the name of the corresponding item on the risk chart's Probability scale.
You can use text, numbers, and percentages for the labels.
Corporater BMP applies the values that you enter in these fields to the risk chart instead of the standard labels for risk charts under Global Settings.
Probability
From probability property - the object property whose values Corporater BMP uses as the initial values for the probability of the risks in the chart.
To probability property - the object property whose values Corporater BMP uses as the current values for the probability of the risks in the chart.
The property that you select for From probability property and To probability property can:
Be a standard or a custom property.
Be of number property, function property, or list property type.
Belong to a risk factor or another object type.
Corporater BMP uses the values of the properties that you select for these options to calculate the probability of the risks in the chart and
display a trend line as the indicator for the evolution of each risk on the chart on Web.
Corporater BMP determines the direction of the line based on the historical values of each risk.
Consequence
From consequence property - the object property whose values Corporater BMP uses as the initial values for the consequence of the risks in the chart.
To consequence property - the object property whose values Corporater BMP uses as the current values for the consequence of the risks in the chart.
The property that you select for From consequence property and To consequence property can:
Be a standard or a custom property.
Be of number property, function property, or list property type.
Belong to a risk factor or another object type.
Corporater BMP uses the values of the properties that you select for these options to calculate the consequence of the risks in the chart and
display a trend line as the indicator for the evolution of each risk on the chart on Web.
Corporater BMP determines the direction of the line based on the historical values of each risk.
The object properties that you specify as probability properties must be different from the consequence properties.
Audit
Modified by - the name of the last user to make changes to the object.
Last modified - the date and time when the object was last changed.
Created by - the name of the user who created the object.
Created - the date and time when the object was created.
ID
ID - a unique ID for the object.
By
default, Corporater BMP assigns consecutive numbers to new objects.
You can change the ID to a value of choice that can include either letters or letter and number combinations.
The ID mustn't contain only numbers, include special characters such as ) ( . * } { + < > [ ], or match the name of a default object type in Corporater BMP.
Lifetime
Lifetime start - select the first day the object and its available children are valid.
Lifetime end - select the last day the object and its available children are valid.
For more information on how to limit the time period during which an object is available to users, see Time span.
Layout
Row span - number of rows used by an element (Row layout only)
Column span - number of columns used by an element (Row layout only)
Width - the space to be used by the object as per row layout; the number must be postfixed with the unit to use, e.g. 40%, 100px, 10cm, 4in
The Width property is a string, so any html size units (i.e. "%", "px", "em", "mm", "cm",
"in", "pt") may be used. However, bear in mind that when you set fixed widths on objects and there isn't enough space, some of them will be rendered on the next row. We therefore recommend always using %.
Area - choose the part of the page where you want the object to be placed, Header, Body or Footer, when a Column Layout where Header and/or Footer has been selected is used; see Page setup for more information (Column layout only)
The Area property will only appear if the Tab selected is of type Column, and Header or Footer is enabled in Tab.
Column - the column in a Column layout the object should be placed in (Column layout only)
Tab - click the icon and select the tab in the Page setup on which to display the object. Note that the Page setup to choose from is not the one selected on the current object, but the one on the parent object. The tab must belong to the chosen Page setup. New tabs can be created here; see Shared web items for more information.
See Web Layout for more information on layouts.
Visibility
Show Menu Button - check if you want the button that opens the Options menu for the object to be available on the web page; among other things, the Options menu contains alternatives for editing and deleting. The contents of the Options menu can be configured in Page setup.
Show Icon/Status - select which icon to display in the Title bar. You can choose between:
Table type icon - the standard icon for the object
Status gauge icon - a status gauge used as icon
No icon
Access control
Read accessors - click the Edit button () and authorize one or more users and user groups to view the object on Web.
Add accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to add new objects to the object on Web.
Write accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to edit the object on Web.
Delete accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to delete the object on Web.
Ownership - click the Edit button () and grant ownership of the object to one or more users and user groups.
Users and user groups who own the object have full access rights to it.
Override access profile - select for the object's access control setting to outrank the object's corresponding access settings in profiles.
