A risk factor is a component that affects the risk.
It's represented by a numerical value that Corporater BMP determines by multiplying the risk factor's probability by the risk factor's consequence (probability x consequence).
To change this value, edit the Probability and Consequence value for the risk factor in Configuration Studio or directly on Web.
You can group risk factors into a risk factor list.
If you include a risk factor in a risk factor list with a priority column, Corporater BMP attaches a status bullet icon to the risk. The icon color is based on the risk factor's value and the colors in Risk options in Global settings.
Probability and Consequence may have 0 as a valid value. This will produce a Risk value of 0 and no Priority bullet.
Risk factors with Risk value = 0 will not appear in any Risk chart.
Note that the behavior of Probability and Consequence is asymmetric, i.e. anything
below 0 in Risk Factor will calculate as 0, and anything above 5 in 5x5 risk chart will produce the max Consequence or Probability.
To add a Risk factor element to a scorecard element, right click the parent element to which it belongs, choose Add -> Risk factor.
General
Name - the name "Risk factor" is generated automatically but it may be changed
Description - an optional text describing the object
Factor type - the type of risk factor; this is also used to determine the layout of any Risk charts the Risk factor is plotted to. Choose from:
Risk - a factor that can influence the end result negatively
Opportunity - a factor that can influence the end result positively
Both - a factor that can influence the end result either positively or negatively
Probability
Manual probability - the likelihood for the risk to occur.
Consequence
Manual consequence - the effect or significance of the risk if it occurs
If the Risk factor type is 'Opportunity', Consequence is a negative value.
Some properties such as Probability and Consequence are historical properties. That means that they will only have value in the period in which a value has been entered or in later periods.
Example: You enter values for Probability and Consequence for a risk factor in August 2017. In August, September, etc. you will see the Risk value for that particular risk factor in the Risk factor list. However, if you go back to a period before August 2017 that particular Risk will not have a Risk value.
Configuration
Icon - click the Icon button () and select an icon to assign to the risk factor.
The icon must be a valid, uploaded file resource.
You can use as icon an image of any file type. However, the recommended file format is .svg.
Corporater BMP resizes the image to a standard size.
If you include the risk factor in a risk chart, the icon displays in the data label for the risk factor in the chart on Web.
Alternative text - an optional text for screen readers to use to describe the icon to visually impaired users on Web.
Information
Linked to - the template object that the risk factor is linked to.
Function
Node type - the node type on which Corporater BMP stores the values for the risk factor. Click the Node type icon () and select a node type.
Audit
Modified by - the name of the last user to make changes to the object.
Last modified - the date and time when the object was last changed.
Created by - the name of the user who created the object.
Created - the date and time when the object was created.
ID
ID - a unique ID for the object.
By
default, Corporater BMP assigns consecutive numbers to new objects.
You can change the ID to a value of choice that can include either letters or letter and number combinations.
The ID mustn't contain only numbers, include special characters such as ) ( . * } { + < > [ ], or match the name of a default object type in Corporater BMP.
Lifetime
Lifetime start - select the first day the object and its available children are valid.
Lifetime end - select the last day the object and its available children are valid.
For more information on how to limit the time period during which an object is available to users, see Time span.
Layout
Page setup - click the Page Setup button () and select a Page setup. Note that the Page setup selected here will affect child elements, not the current element itself. New Page setups can be created here; see Shared web items for more information.
Row span - number of rows used by an element (Row layout only)
Column span - number of columns used by an element (Row layout only)
Width - the space to be used by the object as per row layout; the number must be postfixed with the unit to use, e.g. 40%, 100px, 10cm, 4in
The Width property is a string, so any html size units (i.e. "%", "px", "em", "mm", "cm",
"in", "pt") may be used. However, bear in mind that when you set fixed widths on objects and there isn't enough space, some of them will be rendered on the next row. We therefore recommend always using %.
Area - choose the part of the page where you want the object to be placed, Header, Body or Footer, when a Column Layout where Header and/or Footer has been selected is used; see Page setup for more information (Column layout only)
The Area property will only appear if the Tab selected is of type Column, and Header or Footer is enabled in Tab.
Column - the column in a Column layout the object should be placed in (Column layout only)
Tab - click the icon and select the tab in the Page setup on which to display the object. Note that the Page setup to choose from is not the one selected on the current object, but the one on the parent object. The tab must belong to the chosen Page setup. New tabs can be created here; see Shared web items for more information.
See Web Layout for more information on layouts.
Visibility
Show Top Bar - displays the top bar on the object's page on Web.
Show Menu Bar - displays the menu bar on the object's page on Web.
The menu bar includes the page name, status gauge and trend arrow where applicable, as well as the logo for the current organization.
Show Tabs - displays the tab bar on the object's page on Web.
Show Icon/Status - select which icon to display in the Title bar. You can choose between:
Table type icon - the standard icon for the object
Status gauge icon - a status gauge used as icon
No icon
Access control
Read accessors - click the Edit button () and authorize one or more users and user groups to view the object on Web.
Add accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to add new objects to the object on Web.
Write accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to edit the object on Web.
Delete accessors - click the Edit button() and authorize one or more users and user groups to delete the object on Web.
Ownership - click the Edit button () and grant ownership of the object to one or more users and user groups.
Users and user groups who own the object have full access rights to it.
Override access profile - select for the object's access control setting to outrank the object's corresponding access settings in profiles.
