Resources

In Resources in Configuration Studio you can upload Resources, i.e. File resources and Connectors, to Corporater BMP. E.g. you can upload your company logo as an image file or a document containing supporting information, or you can upload SQL, MDX, or Hyperion resources to use in Transformer projects.

It is also possible to add SQL resources, MDX Resources, JAPI Resources, and URI Resources in the Default model in Property management, to create preconfigured resources that will be available in Resources and Transformer.

Objects in Resources will be available for use in all models in Corporater BMP, such as Transformer, and Scorecard functionality can  refer to objects in Resources.

The following types of resources are available:

How to use Resources in Configuration Studio

Resources can be found in the View menu, under Common in the Window menu or in the Tool bar. It is also integrated in the Transformer Design view.

Resources are stored in Categories, so you must create at least one category before you can add resources. To create a new Category right click in the model and choose Add -> Category.

Adding Resources in Configuration Studio

To add a Resource, right click the category you want to store it in and choose Add -> Resource and the type of resource you want to add.

When you configure Connector objects and Query objects, give them names and descriptions that will be helpful those configuring KPIs, e.g. "Financial database" as Connector and "Budget 2013" as Query.

Connectors

Connectors are objects that contain information that is used to retrieve data from external systems such as databases or data warehouses. They can e.g. be used in Transformer runs or directly in KPIs, i.e. a KPI can retrieve data from an external database via a connector instead of from the BMP node system.

A connector consists of two object types: the connector object itself and one or more query objects. Connector objects contain general information that is used to connect to a given server, such as server address, user name, password, etc. Query objects contain the actual query for retrieving data. A connector can have one or more query objects. See relevant sections under Transformer and Query table for more information.

A KPI that is to use a connector will refer to the Query object and not to the Connector object. This is to simplify definition and configuration of KPIs, since that is not necessarily done by people with knowledge of the query languages.
