Use a Function property to add a function to objects in Type management, e.g. to show costs in Strategic initiatives or include number of organizations in a Description.
ID
ID - a unique ID. Objects are numbered consecutively, but the ID may be changed
IDs should not contain special characters such as ) ( . * } { + < > [ ] etc.
General
Name - the name "Function property" is generated automatically, but we recommend giving the property a different name
Description - an optional text describing the property
Configuration
Category - the category in the object's configuration in which the property should be placed.
Change the property's placement in the configuration dialog by changing this value. Default is "General". E.g. by changing the value to "Configuration" the property will be grouped with
the other properties under Configuration.
Overridden column name in tables - an alternative, shorter property name to be used in column headings; if this property has a value, it will use this as the column header in tables
Name changes made here will not affect token tags for the property.
Display in tables as - how the property should be displayed in the table when there isn't enough room.
Full text - the text shows in its full length on a single line.
Wrapped - the text shows in multiple lines if there is not enough space on one line.
Truncated - the text is cut off with '...' if there is not enough space to show the full text. Full text is shown on mouse over.
Properties that are never shown in tables or that cannot be truncated or wrapped, such as dates, statuses, icons, numbers, and progress, do not have this option. They will always be shown in full text.
Property function - when marked, the function entered in Function below will always be used; when not marked, it will be possible to enter a value or function in the property on each object
The Function property will be considered "read only" when Property function is marked, and there will be nothing to
edit in the editors.
Function - the function that calculates the value of this property (only available when Property function is selected).
Features
Features - select how the object should appear on the web:
Visible
Not visible
Visible when value
Hide NA and NaN rows - check the box if rows that don't contain values or where the values are invalid ("Not a Number") should not be displayed
How NA and NaN values are displayed can be changed in Locale options in Options.
If you don't want to show anything when values are NA or NaN set them to a blank string. These settings affect the entire system.
Hide 0 rows - check the box if rows where all values are 0 should not be displayed
Web editability
Editable on web - whether users who are not administrators should have access to edit the property on the web page; choose between.
Restricted - the property will not be visible for non-administrators.
Unrestricted - the property can be edited by users who are not administrators.
Users who are to be able to edit properties on the web page must be given Property access in addition to Web access in Users and Groups, and they must also be mapped with the Full access profile to the scorecard where the objects they should be able to edit are located
Information
Information - enter helpful text for users who view the object that includes this property on Web. For example, a note on how to input data in that property field for the object.
Click the Lookup () icon and enter the text.
The property supports both plain and rich text.
For Corporater BMP to display text that's specific to the object, add a text property to the object and then include a tag that references that property in the Information property. For example, a myInfo property and a ${this.object.myInfo} tag in Information.
Corporater BMP attaches an Info icon to the property on Web. The icon is visible for the property as follows:
When a user clicks the icon, your text displays in a collapsible Info section.
On the Edit page for the object that includes the property.
On the Add page for the object that includes the property.
In the inline editing mode of a description view for the object that includes the property.
When a user clicks the icon, your text displays in a collapsible Info section.
Linked to - available only after you paste link the property to an object type. The name of the original property type, as listed in the Property settings panel.
Drill
Drills - if you want to show underlying figures for the Function property, click the icon to the right and select one or more of the predefined drills. There are two drill types that are included in the system by default, but Custom drills may have also been created. The default drill types are:
Actual-budget - to compare Actual and Budget figures
Time - to show figures per period for the year so far
If any drill is selected for a Function property, then anywhere the result of the Function property is displayed the number will be a clickable link to its drill.
You may sometimes want to change the names of nodes or functions in drills, in order to increase their readability, to differentiate between references to the same node, etc. You can find information on how
this can be done in the Drill section.
When you select a drill on a function, the drill icon will appear in the function's Drill column on the KPI page on the web, indicating that there is at least one drill for that function. Simply click on the icon to see the drill(s).
You can also access the drill by clicking on the result of the functions anywhere it appears.
Include operator rows - show the mathematical operators used in the function as rows in the drill
Include top row - show a row containing the calculator function(s) that are used in the function;
Include top row will include/exclude the topmost row, no matter what it represents. E.g. it is used to show/hide the line containing the Function name (e.g. AGG, INDEX) when it is used directly in a function object, and to show/hide the line containing the Expression name when the formula consists of an expression.
Format
Format - enter optional formatting information (Prefix, Type, Decimal, Postfix, and/or Color) (Format type, Prefix, Postfix, Decimal places, and/or Color style). If nothing is entered Type, Decimal, and Color Format type, Decimal places, and Color style will have the default values "Normal", "2", and "Normal".
Audit
Modified by - the name of the last user to make changes to the object.
Last modified - the date and time when the object was last changed.
Created by - the name of the user who created the object.
Created - the date and time when the object was created.
