Formatting is important in order to display data in a descriptive and presentable way.
Numbers are always right aligned, including any Postfix. The default number formatting is:
Prefix|number|<Space>Postfix
Examples:

15.250 kg
This formatting applies everywhere in the system where numbers have formatting applied to them. Note that there is no space between the prefix and the number; there is a space between the number and the postfix.
You can format nodes and functions. The following formatting functionality is available:
Format type – the following types are available:
Normal: gives whole numbers
Percentage: gives the figure in percentage, formatted with '%', e.g. a function that gives the value 0.50 will be presented as 50%.
Thousands: gives the figure in thousands
Millions: gives the figure in millions
Billions: gives the figure in billions
Blank: use if values are not to be entered
Date: the value will be displayed as a date
Duration: use to display a period of time and perform date arithmetic; when 'Duration' is selected, Duration type becomes active and Decimal places i no longer available
Values that show Duration must be entered in milliseconds.
Duration type: select the type of formatting to use when 'Duration' is selected as Format type
Prefix – to show a text or symbol in front of the value, example: for "$5" write $ here
Postfix - to show a text or symbol after the value, examples: "500 liters", write 'liters' here; enter 'thousand' or 'mill' if you have selected "Thousands" or "Millions" in Type
Decimal places – the number of decimals to show (not available when 'Duration' is selected as Format type)
Color style - option for highlighting number cells
Normal - numbers are displayed in the normal color (Default)
Positive in green & negative in red - highlights positive numbers using green color and negative numbers using red color
Positive in green - highlights positive numbers only using green color
Negative in red - highlights negative numbers only using red color
