An Access Profile is a set of access rights that can be granted to one or more users. You can create an Access profile mapping by assigning an Access profile to a user for a specific scorecard.
Creating an Access profile mapping for a user and a scorecard means that the access rights specified in the Access profile will apply for the specific user and the specific scorecard. When an Access profile is mapped for a user and a specific scorecard, the profile will apply to the scorecard, its current subelements, and all subelements that may be created in the future.
The access rights configured in an Access profile only apply to users and scorecards to which it is mapped.
It is also possible to map groups and profiles to scorecards. Mapping a group to a scorecard means that the access rights specified in the Access profile will apply to all users that are members of the specific group for the selected scorecard.
Changes to a profile or profile mappings take effect without having to restart the Application. Such changes will also take effect without the user having to log in again.
If recent changes to profile settings do not take effect, it may be necessary to log out and in again.
It is possible to map several Access profiles to the same user for a scorecard. This can be done by mapping several Access profiles to the user directly or indirectly via the user's group memberships.
One or more users can be set as owner of an object. Being an owner of an object means that the user is granted full access to the object in terms of being able to view, modify and delete the object in question. See Access control for more information.
In Configuration Studio, profiles are mapped to users or groups and scorecards in Profile Mapping, which can be found in the View menu, under Structure in the Window menu or in the toolbar.
Choose the User tab to map a user or the Group tab to map a group, and click the user or group you want. Then click the desired scorecard in the organization structure. When you have chosen a valid combination of user or group and scorecard the profiles that have been created in the system will be listed in the Profiles panel. Choose "True" from the drop-down list for the one or ones you want to map.
