A Milestone is a significant point in your progress toward fulfilling a goal, e.g. to complete a Strategic initiative. Add Milestones to a Task list, a Task, or another Milestone to create an overview of all the Milestones to be reached.
You can create a hierarchy of Tasks and Milestones by adding them other Tasks and Milestones. You can also add other objects to Tasks and Milestones, with one exception:
Task lists may not be added to Tasks and Milestones.
Values for Status, End date, and Progress may only be set on the web page.
Milestones do not have the Start date property. If you need Start date you can add
a Date property in Property management or use a Task instead.
To add a Milestone element right click the Task list to which it belongs and choose Add -> Milestone.
Name
Name - the name "Milestone" is generated automatically but it may be changed
Description - an optional text describing the Milestone, displayed when you click Description in the drop-down for the Milestone on the web
Responsible - the person who is responsible for the Milestone. Click the icon to the right of the field and choose from the list. More than one person can be set as responsible. Milestones that a person is responsible for will be listed under My Tasks and Milestones on that person's My Responsibilities.
End date - the last date the milestone is valid
Some properties, such as Manual progress and End date, are historical properties. That means they will only be displayed in the period in which they were entered and later periods.
You can set the end date for the milestone also manually on Web.
Status & Progress
Manual progress - the progress of the Task in percent, if "Manual progress" is selected in Progress algorithm; can be set here or on the web
Status algorithm - the algorithm type used to calculate the status. If "Weighted status" is selected, the weight factor below is used; if "Manual status" is selected the status color may be chosen here or on the web
Manual Status - if you selected "Manual status" in Status algorithm, select the status color to show on the web: "Red", "Yellow", "Green", or "None"; Manual status may also be set on the web
Status type - click the icon to the right to choose the status configuration to use; new Status types can also be configured here; see Status types for more information
Inherit status - applies only if you select 'Manual status' for Status algorithm.
If no status value exists for the period, Corporater BMP uses the status value for the previous period.
For Corporater BMP to clear the status value for each period so that users can manually register the status for these periods, deselect the option.
Progress algorithm - the algorithm used to calculate progress. If "Weighted progress" is selected, the Weight factor above will be used.
Weight - the weight factor of this object. Indicates the importance an object has in relation to other objects at the same level.
Visibility
Border style - choose the style the object should have:
Frame and Title bar
Frame only
None
Visible - select how the object should appear on the web:
Visible
Not visible
Only visible for Admin - shows the object on the web only for users with admin user role; this applies everywhere, e.g. breadcrumb, organization tree, page content, Reporter, searching, filtered lists, maps, and Workflow.
This can be useful e.g. when adding new elements to "live" objects.
Audit
Modified by - the name of the last user to make changes to the object.
Last modified - the date and time when the object was last changed.
Created by - the name of the user who created the object.
Created - the date and time when the object was created.
ID
ID - a unique ID for the object.
By
default, Corporater BMP assigns consecutive numbers to new objects.
You can change the ID to a value of choice that can include either letters or letter and number combinations.
The ID mustn't contain only numbers, include special characters such as ) ( . * } { + < > [ ], or match the name of a default object type in Corporater BMP.
Layout
Page setup - click the Page Setup button () and select a Page setup. Note that the Page setup selected here will affect child elements, not the current element itself. New Page setups can be created here; see Shared web items for more information.
Row span - number of rows used by an element (Row layout only)
Column span - number of columns used by an element (Row layout only)
Width - the space to be used by the object as per row layout; the number must be postfixed with the unit to use, e.g. 40%, 100px, 10cm, 4in
The Width property is a string, so any html size units (i.e. "%", "px", "em", "mm", "cm",
"in", "pt") may be used. However, bear in mind that when you set fixed widths on objects and there isn't enough space, some of them will be rendered on the next row. We therefore recommend always using %.
Area - choose the part of the page where you want the object to be placed, Header, Body or Footer, when a Column Layout where Header and/or Footer has been selected is used; see Page setup for more information (Column layout only)
The Area property will only appear if the Tab selected is of type Column, and Header or Footer is enabled in Tab.
Column - the column in a Column layout the object should be placed in (Column layout only)
Tab - click the icon and select the tab in the Page setup on which to display the object. Note that the Page setup to choose from is not the one selected on the current object, but the one on the parent object. The tab must belong to the chosen Page setup. New tabs can be created here; see Shared web items for more information.
See Web Layout for more information on layouts.

Show Top Bar - displays the top bar on the object's page on Web.
Show Menu Bar - displays the menu bar on the object's page on Web.
The menu bar includes the page name, status gauge and trend arrow where applicable, as well as the logo for the current organization.

Show Tabs - displays the tab bar on the object's page on Web.
