YTD (Year to date) recalculates all KPI values to figures from the beginning of the year to today. Tables and Charts change to show year to date figures. No trend arrows are displayed when year to date figures are displayed, and status is displayed as an average of all periods so far.
When YTD is used in calculations, status values are first calculated per period and then an average of all periods is calculated to find the average year to date. Beginning of period (bop) is replaced with Beginning of year (boy) in all calculations.
When YTD is enabled, a checkbox will appear in the Period selector at the top when viewing results. To see the Year to date figures, mark the YTD checkbox.
YTD can be enabled for scorecards, perspectives, strategic objectives, and KPIs. YTD can be enabled for one, several, or all elements.
To enable YTD for an object, choose "True" in the drop-down list in the object's properties. If "False" is chosen, the YTD checkbox will not be available and YTD figures will not be displayed. If "Inherit" is chosen, the element will have the same access to YTD figures as its parent element.
YTD enabled under Portal Options in Options in Configuration Studio controls the default
value of the YTD enabled property for scorecards. Original default value is "False", so selecting "Inherit" in other objects will give "False". If YTD enabled has been set for objects in Defaults, the setting in Options will be overridden.
If you have a scorecard with YTD-enabled = "True" and a KPI with YTD-enabled = "False", the YTD checkbox will not be available and YTD figures will not be displayed on the KPI page on the web.
