Additional rule

By using an Additional rule you can check for events on other objects in the same hierarchy as the one(s) found by the Event rule. An Additional rule defines additional conditions that must be met in order for the actions in the Workflow to be performed. The filter in an Additional rule can only be applied to objects that are parents or children of the object(s) found by the Event rule.

 

How to create an Additional rule

An Additional rule is created by right clicking an Event rule and choosing Add -> Additional rule. Rule configuration is the same as for an Event rule, except that Period type and Period relative to run date from the Event rule will be used.

 

An Additional rule will only be run on parents or children of the items returned by the Event rule, so specifying where to search is not relevant here. Instead you must select whether the rule should be run on:

 

If Parents of the items returned by the Event rule is selected, the Additional rule icon will look like this: . If Children of the items returned by the Event rule is selected the icon will be: .

 

  

A preview of an Event rule will show the sum of all rules and rule sets in the Event rule and any Additional rules.
