Limits

Limits are used to indicate what are good results and what are poor results.

For a Status gauge to indicate status, the current period's results are checked against the limit values you have entered for each color in the gauge for the period. The current period's results are calculated based on the Status algorithm defined in the KPI.

How to define Limits

A Limit value must be entered for each color in the gauge. The values on the far left and far right specify what will give maximum and minimum on the status gauge. The other values specify the limits between the colors, e.g. between red and yellow and between yellow and green. The values that are entered will be used for all periods until new values are entered.

The limit values that mark the limits between two colors will be included in the lower status, i.e. if you enter the limits 0, 30, 60, and 100, a value of 30 will give red status, while a value of 30.001 will give yellow status.

Limits in all status objects will reflect what has been set up in Status types and Options.

A Function status works in the same way, but each limit can be defined as a function.

The entire number must be entered in the Limits fields for the status gauge, i.e. formatting is ignored. E.g., to enter a limit of one million you must enter 1000000, even if the KPI is formatted to show millions.

Limit values that show Duration must be entered in milliseconds.
