TRANSFORMER
To use an MDX or Hyperion resource as source in a Transformer project, it must first be imported. See Resources for information on how to import an MDX source.
Transformer connects to Analysis Server in this way:
Transformer contacts a .dll on the server, usually the server running Analysis Server. This .dll has been published via Internet Information Server. In turn the .dll contacts Analysis Server and routes the response back to Transformer.
XMLA 1.1 and MSXML 4.0 from Microsoft are needed to set up the .dll. They are libraries that must be installed on the machine where the .dlls are published.
Right click in the Transformer design panel and choose Source -> MDX source. Now double click the MDX source icon to configure it.
It is possible to 'Drag and Drop' an MDX resource from the Resources panel to the Design panel to use as an MDX source.
