TRANSFORMER
Hierarchy is used to automatically build node structures from a stream of data, e.g. for loading into a BMP database. It can be used with a data stream (file) containing a list that is to be entered into the database in hierarchical form, e.g. a list of different business units in different geographical locations.
Hierarchy is normally used with Node Target or Organization Target to create the desired tree structure in the database. The tree structure is created by specifying that new organizations or nodes are to be inserted as children of the parent_key.
To create an Hierarchy process, right click in the Transformer design panel, choose Process -> Hierarchy. Connect it to the previous process as described in Processes.
Name
Name - the name "Hierarchy" is generated automatically but it may be changed
Description - an optional text describing the process
Audit
Modified by - the name of the last user to make changes to the object.
Last modified - the date and time when the object was last changed.
Created by - the name of the user who created the object.
Created - the date and time when the object was created.
The columns from the source are listed under Key column on the left. You create the node or organization structure by choosing the column that is to be used as the key and clicking the right arrow in the middle. The column name will be moved to the Corresponding target column on the right hand side.
Now mark the column under Corresponding target, click the Name field drop-down list and select the column that contains the name. Choose the Description field in the same way, if desired.
Continue building the structure in the same way by choosing the column that represents the next level in the hierarchy from Key column. It will be placed below and indented in relation to the first Key column you chose, illustrating the structure of the hierarchy.
Values that are to be used as keys must be unique.
