A Template allows you to create master elements that can be used throughout the entire system.
You create an object once and copy or link it into your system, simplifying scorecard creation and maintenance.
It is also possible to create scorecard structures and entire hierarchies.
Templates are stored in Categories. You must create at least one category before you can create a Template object.
When a user adds an item from the list of addable items to an object on Web, if that item is based on a Template object, Corporater BMP creates the new object in the business
model as an object that’s linked to that Template object.
If you delete a Template object with associated links, you delete the links too.
Choose Template in the View menu or under Structure in the Window menu.
The Template panel is available by default for the Business Management Platform, Strategic Initiative, and Risk models.
Right click a category, choose Add, and then select the desired object from the list. Configure the object as described in its section in the documentation, keeping in mind that this is a global configuration that may be used throughout the entire BMP model.
You can define Access control for objects in Templates. This is done in the same way as explained in the documentation section
for each object type. Access control defined in Templates will apply to all objects that are linked or copied, unless changed on individual objects.
When you have created an object or structure, you can copy or link it to the model by right clicking the object in the Template panel and choosing Copy, then opening the model you want to link it to, right clicking the parent object and choosing Paste copy or Paste link.
You can copy a template object to several parent objects in your model at the same time, by using multiselect. E.g. to copy a template scorecard to several organizations
at once, hold down Ctrl while marking all the organizations before clicking Paste copy or Paste link.
Paste link will create a link to the template object. Then if you make changes to the Template object the changes will automatically be made to the object in the model too. You can still make changes to individual
properties, i.e. override single properties on linked objects, while keeping the link to the other properties. An arrow on the icons for an object indicates that it is linked, e.g. . See Linking for more information.
Paste copy will create an independent object with no link to the Template object.
To create a Category right click in the empty area in the Template model panel and choose Add -> Category.
