You can use the Column widths object to define the layout of columns in a table.
As a rule, each column in a table uses the minimum amount of available space. However, if the table content doesn't span the full width of the table, the first column grows to fill any remaining space. If there is not enough space for the table content, a scroll bar appears for the table.
To create a Column widths object in Shared web items, you must first create a Category or use an existing one. Right click the Category and choose Add -> Column widths.
